Jockey Cam return to The Breeders’ Cup 2018 with Equine Productions — broadcasting unique footage for NBC Sports and The Breeders’ Cup
Jockey Cam, presented by Astin Martin, returned this year to The Breeders’ Cup 2018 in Churchill Downs, Louisville, Kentucky — after last year’s impressive and successful debut at The Breeders’ Cup 2017 in Del Mar, California.
The two-day event was held over the 3rd and 4th of November and filled with exciting races that Equine Productions broadcast for NBC Sports and The Breeders’ Cup, using the incredibly unique jockey point-of-view footage from the Jockey Cam.
The helmet-mounted camera officially debuted in the U.S. last year at the 2017 Breeders’ Cup World Championships and was worn by Hall of Fame jockey Mike Smith during his come-from-behind win in the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies — subsequently amassing 150,000 views online.
The Jockey Cam is produced by Equine Productions, an international film production company based in the United Kingdom. This year, the Jockey Cam was back and once again utilised its usage throughout the weekend of the championships to provide fans with many unique, point-of-view footage of the races.
